She really is half the woman she used to be, after tipping the scales at more than 21 stone just last year.

Kelly, 37, joined The PT Studio, in Wigan, in April 2017 and enrolled on a body transformation challenge.

Initially she felt out of her depth and recalls the first group exercise class, when her heart was pounding with nerves and she was filled with self-doubt.

Nevertheless, she completed her first class with husband Tony, owner of Jesters Ink Tattoo Studio in Pemberton, who had joined and supported her.

After that first session, Kelly continued to attend classes and began a heathy eating regime.

The eating plan was flexible but focused on portion sizes and food amounts, something that Kelly focussed on meticulously.

Each week she would check in with the head coach, who would motivate her and help her to stay on track, offering advice and support.

Kelly made friends with other members of the gym also losing weight and developed a support network.

Her confidence grew over the 10 weeks of the challenge, but once it finished she was still not happy with how she looked and knew she must continue her mission.

Kelly, from Pemberton, kept going to classes, focused on her nutrition and eating plans and signed up to the next challenge to keep her on track.

She hit her 10 stone weight loss target weight this summer and was awarded VIP Transformation of the Year.

Head coach Ste Barlow, from The PT Studio, said: “The team is extremely proud of all she has achieved not only physically but mentally.

“Kelly is an inspirational woman who is an ambassador to all the strong women who are committed to self improvement. Without a challenge there is no change and what a challenge Kelly has completed.

“Kelly may have lost half of her body weight but she has gained so much more over the past 12 months.”
