Wigan’s A-level results day

HUNDREDS of Wigan teenagers are getting their A-level results today.

With a record number of university places up for grabs and a huge drop in the number of younger people out of work in yesterday’s benefit claimant statistics, there is a lot to play for.

Envelopes were this morning being opened by teenagers at the borough’s five main exam centres: St John Rigby College, Winstanley College, Wigan and Leigh College, Astley St Mary’s High School and The Deanery High.

Our reporters and photographers are covering results day and there will be a host of stories and images appearing in Friday’s and Saturday’s Wigan Evening Posts.
