Fund-raising activity at the Newtown Asda hypermarket will take place instore and in the local area throughout the Breast Cancer Awareness Month of October.

Asda national charities manager Emma Gittoes said: “As this year’s Tickled Pink campaign launches in Wigan, it is an ideal time to say a massive thank-you to all our colleagues and customers who have wholeheartedly supported the campaign in previous years – and to call upon their support again this October.

“As we surpass the £60m mark in terms of funds raised for Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now, it is possible to see the tangible difference made by money raised through the campaign – with this year offering further opportunities to change, and potentially save, the lives of those affected by breast cancer.”

An Asda Wigan spokesman added: “This year colleagues in Wigan will be ‘in the pink’ throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month to raise awareness of breast cancer, and the fund-raising activities taking place instore and in the local community.

“From a pink non-uniform day, cake sales to a tombola colleagues will be busy raising funds for the charities supported through Tickled Pink to ensure that care and advise is available for anyone facing a breast cancer diagnosis.
