At around 2:45am on Sunday 31 January 2016, the 30-year-old victim was in Pics Bar in Bury town centre when a fight broke out near where he was standing.

As he tried to calm the situation down, he was dragged towards the rear fire doors of the bar by a number of unknown men, one of whom had his hand around the victim’s throat.

“We are keen to speak to anybody who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about what happened.”
