POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman was threatened and had her car stolen in Wigan.

At around 4.10pm on Saturday, May 10, a woman parked her car on Holgate Drive, Orrell, and when she got out two men, wearing balaclavas, ran towards her.

They threatened her, demanding that she give them the car keys, and one of them grabbed the keys from the woman’s hand. They then ran off, stole the car and drove off in the direction of Orrell Post.

One of the men is described as white, around 5ft 11in tall and is of slim build. He was wearing a woollen balaclava, a dark bomber jacket and blue denim jeans. He spoke with a Merseyside accent.

The other man is described as around 5ft 9in tall, of stocky build and was wearing a black woollen balaclava.

The car was a Black Audi RS4 Quattro.

Detective Constable Kevin Telford of Wigan Division said: “A woman was robbed in broad daylight and is understandably extremely shaken by the events.

“This type of crime and behaviour will not be tolerated. We want to reassure people living in Wigan that we are investigating this crime and are doing everything we can to catch the offenders as soon as possible.

“We’re urging anyone who may have seen two men driving away in the car or seen anyone matching the men’s descriptions to contact police immediately.”
