A WIGAN woman managed to escape with only superficial wounds after suffering a terrifying dawn raid.
She was woken by a loud battering on the door of her home in Worsley Mesnes and when she opened the door of her home she found herself confronted by two knife waiving attackers with faces obscured, who brushed her a side and rushed into her lounge.
They then stole a flat screen television from the wall and a pair of mobile phones before leaving amid of veil of threats.
The woman suffered a cut to her hand from one of the weapons, described as domestic kitchen knives, but would refuse ambulance treatment in what officers are now describing as an aggravated burglary.
The men are described as white and in the early 20s. One was at least 6ft in height, the other 5ft 10in.
Both are of medium build and were wearing dark clothes, with dark scarves over their faces and hoods drawn up.
One was heard by the victim to call the other “James” as they left the house. Police have launched an inquiry and are anxious to speak to witnesses to the attack or any neighbours who saw the attackers leaving. Witnesses should call police on 101.
