A DRUNKEN Wigan woman whose behaviour was described by police as “disgraceful” has admitted breaching the peace.
Beverley Abbott repeatedly verbally abused officers who were called to her home on Templeton Road, Platt Bridge, shortly after midnight on December 28.
Wigan Magistrates’ Court heard how police were initially called after the defendant claimed she had been assaulted by her partner.
But when officers arrived it quickly became clear that it was in fact Abbott who was the aggressor.
Police reported how the 42-year-old was “incredibly rude and abusive” despite officers trying to defuse the situation.
They described her behaviour - shouting and swearing in the street at the top of her voice - as “disgraceful”.
Magistrates bound Abbott over to keep the peace for 12 months - in particular towards her partner. If she breaches the order she will have to pay £50.
