Woman sexually assaulted as she drew money from cash machine

POLICE are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted as she withdrew money from a cash machine.

At 4.30pm on Wednesday 4 March 2015, the 28-year-old was at an ATM on Moss Lane in Altrincham when the man approached her from behind.

He sexually assaulted her by touching and ran off towards Altrincham Interchange. He was then seen to get on 11a bus towards Stockport.

The man is described as being white, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, on his mid 30s and had bad skin. He wore a dark coloured hooded top and beanie hat.

Police Constable Katie Colebrook said: “The victim could not believe the offender had assaulted her in such a way and in broad daylight. I would ask anyone who may have been in the Moss Lane area and witnessed what happened to contact us.

“I would also appeal to those who recognise the person in the image and to the person himself to call us so we can eliminate him from our enquiries.”

Anyone with information should phone police on 0161 856 7530 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
