DO YOU have an idea to make your community a better place to live and need help to make it happen?
The council is working with Community Catalysts and the School for Social Entrepreneurs to run a series of free sessions to take residents step-by-step through getting up and running.
They won’t need qualifications or any previous experience - just the kernel of a good idea.
Through the workshop sessions, there will be guidance through the stages relevant to the idea and bringing it to life, including shaping, pricing, finding a venue and sourcing people to work with.
Council cabinet member for adult health and social care Coun Keith Cunliffe said: “Local people know their community the best and so are just the people to suggest what is needed to make it a better place to live in. “
The free workshops start next Wednesday (September 18) and will also be held on September 25, plus October 2 and 16. All will take place at St Patrick’s Rugby Club in Harper St (off Darlington St) in Wigan and run from 11am to 3pm. To book call 07741 260 674.
