SEVEN youths have been arrested after a disturbance involving a large group of teenagers in Wigan town centre.
Police officers were called to the Picasso pizzeria on King Street after youths gathered outside the premises and smashed a window at around 9.45pm on Saturday evening.
The group had largely dispersed by the time the police arrived, but officers made inquiries in the immediate area and made several arrests on suspicion of assault and affray. Those arrested were all juveniles.
Reports suggested the trouble began outside the shop when a large group of young people gathered at Picasso and then tried to force their way inside the shop, but were unable to do so.
No other premises appear to have been targeted in the incident. Greater Manchester Police said the cause of the disturbance was still unclear.
