Life Centre gym and studio to get makeover

The work, which begins next month, will see customers benefit from the latest Technogym equipment and technology, as well as virtual classes in the existing group studio, and a new studio will be created for activities such as yoga and pilates.
The Life Centre will become one of the first of its kind in the UK to use Technogym’s Skillrow, developed in collaboration with Olympic athletes to provide a realistic feeling of being on water.

A “mywellness cloud” will also be introduced, allowing members to build their own programmes, take part in gym challenges and track their training inside and outside of the gym, linking with up to 10 apps to provide a full fitness experience.
Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles is leading on the refurbishment. Managing director Peter Burt said: “Upgrading the fitness offer at Wigan Life Centre is a very exciting process.
“It will see us introduce some exclusive equipment for our members, only used by a minority of other leisure providers in the UK so far.

Gym works run from June 16 to July 3, during which time it will be closed but extra classes will be laid on.
