M6 lanes reopen near Wigan after pothole repairs

Traffic was temporarily stopped on the M6 near Wigan due to a pothole on the road.

A pothole was discovered on the southbound carriageway of the motorway between junction 27 (Parbold) and junction 26 (Orrell interchange) this morning (March 14).

Traffic was halted while it was repaired and all lanes have since re-opened following the completion of the work.

Highways England tweeted: "#M6 southbound #J27 to #J26 > Repair completed, and the block has been released - All lanes back open."
