Jones is a Latics legend twice over - for his playing days at Springfield Park, and also as assistant manager during Roberto Martinez's reign.

"Graeme will get a fantastic reception, and rightly so, he'll deserve it," acknowledged Cook, who played for Latics before and after Jones' three-year spell.

"His years here, especially alongside Roberto Martinez, will be remembered forever, and very, very fondly.

"It'll be epitomised by the FA Cup victory, the years in the Premier League, and the success they brought to Wigan Athletic."

Jones is enjoying his first managerial post as a No.1, and Cook has been impressed by the way he's kept the Hatters competitive since winning promotion from League One.

"Graeme's done, in my opinion, a fantastic job down there," the Latics boss added.

"When teams are being promoted from League One, you can genuinely see the difficulties they have.

"It's a really tough, unforgiving, brutal league and, within that, Luton have managed to get some big, big results.

"I think a lot of people expected Luton, and Barnsley, and maybe even ourselves, to just lay down and be relegated.

"And I think it's great credit to all of the clubs that, at the minute, none of them are doing that."
