Saturday’s 4-0 triumph at Fleetwood means Latics have secured their top-two spot with three games to go, and need just two wins now to clinch a second League One title in three years.

“It feels great...they never get boring...it’s special every time you win promotion,” said Grigg, who has been promoted in each of his last FOUR seasons at this level.

“The lads have been brilliant all year, it’s been a real team effort.

“The amount of clean sheets we’ve had has been incredible, but that comes from the defence, the midfield, and the front players as well.

“We’re also the top scorers in the division, but that’s not just the strikers – it comes from throughout the team.

“And I think that’s been the key all season, right from day one.

“It’s never been about just one player, it’s about the collective unit.”

The players were pictured on social media celebrating in Wigan into the early hours of Sunday morning.

But they have the small matter of tomorrow night’s trip to Bristol Rovers to sober them up fast!

Grigg, though, says there’ll be no letting up in the run-in.

“Yeah definitely...I think you saw on Saturday there was no holding back,” he added.

“We fully went for it, and that’s the way it’s going to be for the last three games.

“It’s no secret we want to win the league.

“The first step is to cement yourselves into the play-offs, then the top two, and then top spot.

“It won’t be easy at Bristol, because they’ve been good at home and drew with Blackburn the other week.

“But after Sunday off we’ll be back in on Monday and we’ll be preparing properly.”
