The Wigan Athletic attacking stat which showed their difficulty against relegation rivals Luton - Championship stats round-up
It wasn’t a great spectacle at the DW Stadium at the weekend as Wigan Athletic and Luton Town played out a goalless draw. The Latics dropped a place in the league due to wins by Middlesbrough and Stoke City.
It has tightened up the bottom of the table with eight points separating the bottom eight. There are just three points between six teams with regards to the final relegation spot.
We look at some of the key statistics from the weekend relating to Wigan and those around them in the Championship table, as well as the individual players who shone or struggled elsewhere in the division.
1. Wednesday woe

2. Boro’s attacking boost
Middlesbrough claimed a valuable win over Charlton Athletic on Saturday. It was aided by being more proactive in front of goal. 3. Wigan’s wastefulness
It was a game to forget for all those in attendance at Wigan v Luton. The home side hit the target with just two of their 12 shots giving them an on-target percentage of just 16.67%. It produced an xG of just 0.74. Photo: Gareth Copley
4. Hull’s passing issue
Accuracy of passing is becoming an issue for Hull City. For the fifth time in six games the team’s passing accuracy fell below 70%. For the season they have averaged more than 75%. An inability to keep the ball is an issue. Photo: Lewis Storey
