The 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town at the John Smith's Stadium saw them move up to 17th in the table, but they are only three points above the drop zone.

The Terriers remain on 42 points and sit in 20th spot.

Just eight points separate the bottom eight teams, with Luton (36), Barnsley (37) and Hull City (41) the teams currently in the bottom three.

Charlton were the big movers as they moved outside of the drop zone to 19th thanks to a terrific 1-0 away win at Hull.

Middlesbrough, who were beaten 3-0 at home to Swansea, are outside of the drop zone on goal difference, with Stoke also in danger after a 1-1 draw at Fulham.

Paul Cook's men have an opportunity to put further daylight between themselves and the relegation zone next week when they face Blackburn Rovers at home next weekend.

However, their neighbours will be a tough proposition. They moved into seventh position in the table, a point outside the play-offs, after beating Bristol City 3-1 at Ewood Park.
