Adam Bogdan says Latics are ‘prepared to fight’ for a result against Burton tomorrow.
The Brewers graduated from League One with Latics last term, and come to the DW Stadium with four points from their last two games to match Wigan’s recent run.

And while Latics have their sights set on climbing the table, Bogdan has outlined the threat in front of them, and isn’t taking the three points on offer for granted.
“It will be a tough game because they have a very hard style of play, you can compare it a little bit to Leicester’s,” he said.
“They are very direct, they get a lot of bodies in the boxes, a lot of diagonals so you have to match it.
“You have to match the effort, strength and speed.
“Hopefully, once we do that we will have the space to play and go down their sides and break them.”
The keeper, on loan from Liverpool, thinks a strong defensive foundation will help build a platform for Latics to score goals, and admitted building a lead makes everyone’s job easier.
“A goal can change the game and when you score it gives you more confidence because you have a cushion,” he said.
“But it shouldn’t make a difference.
“Your job is to defend and to keep the ball out of the net. That’s the job for the whole team.
“But when a goal goes in for you and another goes in you feel light and everything seems to go our way.
“So far we haven’t had that sort of feeling, apart from Blackburn, and we’ve had to fight. But that’s okay, we can fight and hopefully dig out results.”
With that job in mind, Bogdan is mindful the small details of Latics’ game don’t get forgotten about, especially given Burton’s style of play.
But he is also confident such aspects are starting to develop now the season is getting up to running temperature.
“The stuff we talked about, to do the gritty part of the game, tracking runners and winning second balls and all those things you shouldn’t forget about doing, it’s starting to come together and is moulding in the right way,” he explained.
“I would say even the games before we couldn’t get a point we looked very together and defended well.
“It’s a team effort, it’s not just defending, sometimes the attacking midfielders you have to track back and once you do that as a team and you move as a team and a group then you will get results.”
