GARY Caldwell has urged one final push from Wigan Athletic’s supporters and players ahead of tomorrow’s do-or-die clash against Brighton.
Latics have three games left to escape the dreaded drop to League One, looking to close an eight-point gap to fourth-bottom Rotherham.
Nothing less than three wins will do, and Caldwell is hoping Latics can smash an 18-game wait for a home win to kick-start a dramatic survival bid.
“It will be amazing to walk out at the DW for the first time as Wigan Athletic manager, and hopefully we can pick up the three points we desperately need,” said Caldwell.
“The fans have played a key role in our Great Escapes in the past, and they have a massive part to play in our efforts to end the season on a high.
“As players you respond to the kind of backing they’ve always given us when it matters, and we’ll need that again.
“No one at the club is giving up the fight. We still believe we can do it.”
