SCOTT Carson insists Wigan Athletic will be going all out to end the regular season on a high at Blackburn this weekend.

Latics make the short trip to Ewood Park having already secured their play-off place with the midweek win at Birmingham.

If they remain fifth they will face QPR in the play-off semi-final, although a defeat at Ewood could see them slip to sixth and a post-season meeting with Derby.

In all probability, Latics will have to see off both the Hoops and the Rams if they are to win promotion back to the Premier League.

And Carson, who celebrated regaining his No.1 jersey in midweek with a clean sheet, says Latics need to enter the play-offs with momentum.

“That’s what we want, to clinch that fifth spot,” he told the Evening Post.

“We don’t want to turn up and lose the game, we want to end the season with a bit of momentum.

“It’s not going to be easy at Blackburn but at least we’re not having to go there needing a win to guarantee our play-off spot.”

Tickets for the home play-off against either QPR or Derby went on sale this morning to season-ticket holders.

The Derby game would take place next Thursday, while QPR would visit 24 hours later.

Tickets are £20 adults, £15 OAPs and £10 juniors.
