The manager revealed Monday’s 1-0 win over Manchester City in the FA Cup took its toll on some of his players, including Nick Powell.

Powell limped off during the action on Monday to be replaced by Jay Fulton, and the star striker won’t feature at the DW Stadium tomorrow afternoon.

“Powelly won’t make the game tomorrow but there are one or two other lads who won’t be involved as well, who we won’t be going into too much detail,” said Cook.

“There are a couple of lads out from Monday night because of injury, naturally, and the injuries come off the back of fatigue.

“When you’ve worked as hard as the lads have on Monday night, the natural thing will be a little bit of carry on from that.

“Sam Morsy is suspended so it will be a changed team for us, but within that changed team will be lads who believe they should be starting who’ve waited for opportunities to play and some will certainly get a chance to do that.”

Cook is mindful of a League One campaign which is getting more gridlocked by the week.

“It’s important we plan, we do everything we can to pick to the right team,” he said.
