THOUSANDS of Wiganers have landed at Wembley Stadium ahead of Wigan Athletic’s FA Cup semi-final with Millwall.

The skies are grey but Latics will be hoping to turn them blue and book their place in the big final next month.

A win today would put Wigan within touching distance of a place in the Europa League, depending on tomorrow’s other semi-final result.

The pubs are full to the brim with buoyant Wiganers who are more than confident their side can replicate the result from 1999 when the two sides met in the Autowindscreens Shield Final.

Latics fans heading up Wembley Way are preparing to see their side make history.

Ian Naylor, from Hindley, said: “It’s amazing, I’m absolutely buzzing.

“I think we’ll win 2-0. The atmosphere is great and we’re all ready to get in now and cheer the boys on!”

Mike Barnes from Marus Bridge added: “We’re making history, it’s unreal.

“I’m so proud to be a Latic, this club is something else.

“To have 20,000 Wiganers under one roof is top notch.

“Come on Latics!”
