Latics fans will chalk up more than 500 miles supporting their club over the festive period.
Bookmaker sportingbet has assessed the Christmas fixture lists of every Championship club to reveal who will spend most time on the road travelling to away games and the supporters who will need to spend the most following their team.
Away days at Swansea and West Brom will mean Wigan Athletic will travel 538 miles - the eighth highest in the Championship.
Based on HMRC’s 45p-a-mile rate, they will spend £242, while Swansea fans will need to spend £390.60 supporting their club this Christmas as they travel 868 miles - the most in the league. Reading fans will need to spend only £75.60 supporting their club this Christmas – a kind fixture list means they have to travel just 168 miles, which is less than anyone in the Championship.
