WIGAN Athletic have confirmed the season-long loan of Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell
He becomes the club’s eleventh signing of the summer transfer window, who arrives on a season-long loan from Manchester United.
The 19-year old signed joined United from Crewe last year and scored on his club debut against Latics at Old Trafford back in September.
Wigan manager Owen Coyle spoke of his delight at landing Powell.
He said: “We’re delighted to welcome Nick to Wigan Athletic, and thank Manchester United for allowing a player whom they have invested a large sum of money in and has incredible talent, to join us for the season.
“We’re all excited to be offering him the opportunity to play football at a high level and for him to continue his development here at the club.”
Elsewhere, James McCarthy’s future is still in the balance with Everton’s latest bid involving the fee being rolled out over four years.
Chairman Dave Whelan rejected the offer straight away but it is believed the Goodison Park club could return before the 11pm deadline with Marouane Fellaini on the verge of joining Manchester United.
