WIGAN Athletic are still in with a chance of landing Hull City centre-back Jack Hobbs after having a bid accepted by the Tigers.
The 25-year-old, who is out of contract in the summer, had been expected to join Nottingham Forest - with whom he has spent the first half of the campaign on loan.
However, Hobbs has since been recalled from the City Ground by the Tigers, a move which has moved the goalposts somewhat.
And Hull boss Steve Bruce says the player’s future is far from decided, with Latics one of three clubs competing for his signature.
“We have accepted a bid from Forest, we have accepted a bid from Wigan and we have accepted a bid from Reading, so I would expect him by Friday to take up one of those options,” Bruce revealed.
Bruce did play down speculation Championship leaders Leicester were also monitoring developments.
“That’s news to me, I don’t know where that’s come from,” Bruce added.
“Certainly the club haven’t heard anything that I’m aware of.”
