WIGAN Athletic have rejected a bid, believed to be around £5m, for James McArthur from Leicester City.
The midfielder has already been the subject of two failed bids from Burnley with the two Premier League clubs keen to secure his services.
Latics chairman Dave Whelan confirmed that the club had rejected Leicester’s bid but hinted a move may be possible if the club receives an offer high enough and McArthur wants to move.
He was quoted by the Telegraph as saying: “We received a bid from Leicester and we’ve given them our reply this morning – he’s not for sale at that price.
“Our number-one priority is the club, the second is the player, and we always look at things in that order.
“I wouldn’t stand in the way of anybody wanting to playing in the Premier League, though, so we’ll see how much Leicester want him.”
