WIGAN Athletic have been paired with local rivals Bolton Wanderers in the third round of the FA Cup.
It’s an immediate chance for Latics to avenge the dismal 3-1 league defeat at the Macron Stadium last month, which proved to be Uwe Rosler’s last match in charge.
Latics are unbeaten in the competition in three years, having lifted the cup in 2013 and only bowing out of last year’s semi-finals following a penalty shoot-out to eventual winners Arsenal.
The two sides have met in the FA Cup once before, back in 2010, when the Trotters edged a fourth-round replay at the DW by the odd goal after a 1-1 draw in Horwich.
The tie will take place on the weekend of January 3-6.
