DONALD Love will remain with Wigan Athletic until at least January 7, 2016 after extending his loan deal from Manchester United.
The Scotland Under-21 international’s initial loan deal was due to expire this week.
But Latics chief Gary Caldwell - as revealed by the Wigan Observer a fortnight ago - has been pushing to extend the deal for a further month to include the gruelling festive period.
Love has missed the last month after picking up a thigh problem while away with his country, and has been back at United to complete his rehab.
However, he’s back at Wigan now and pushing for a recall for Saturday’s League One visit of Blackpool.
“Donald had been doing well prior to getting injured, and he adds great competition on the right-hand side,” said Caldwell.
“He’s a young player who’s still learning the game, and his attitude has been terrific since being with the group.”
