UWE Rosler expects to find out by New Year’s Day whether Nick Powell will be staying with Wigan Athletic for the rest of the campaign.
But the German insists he has been given no cause for concern that his star forward my be recalled by Manchester United.
Rosler has been in regular dialogue with his Old Trafford counterpart David Moyes regarding the status of Powell.
The England Under-21 international is on a season-long loan at the DW, but there has been speculation that United may opt to cut that short.
According to reports in the national press, United are looking into the possibility of either bringing Powell back into the fold for the second half of the campaign, or loaning him out to another Premier League club to fast-track his development.
However, Rosler insists that is news to him.
“I don’t know where that other stuff is coming from,” revealed Rosler.”I speak regularly to David Moyes at Manchester United - I have a very good relationship with him.
“He has always been very helpful to me in my career, and supported me during my time at Brentford when he was at Everton.
“I took a number of his players to Brentford, and it worked very well.
“And I think Manchester United are very happy with the progress that Nick is making with us.
“The things that have appeared in the papers, I have no control over that at all.
“I can only refer to the direct conversations I have had with David Moyes, and we will have further conversations on Monday and Tuesday.
“Once those talks have been had, I will know for certain what is going to happen.
“But so far there has been no indication whatsoever that anything has changed on that score.”
Powell returned from injury for yesterday’s 0-0 draw with Burnley, a result that extends Wigan’s unbeaten league record under Rosler but leaves them in mid-table of the Championship.
