LATICS fans will get the chance to get up close and personal with boss Uwe Rosler on the eve of the new Championship campaign.

Rosler will be the star turn at a fans’ forum on Tuesday, August 5 in the Marquee at the DW Stadium – four days before the season kicks-off with the visit of Reading.

The German is currently overseeing his first pre-season at Wigan, having moved from Brentford midway through last term.

Rosler was well and truly thrown in at the deep end with Latics still involved in the Europa League as well as battling for promotion, with a dramatic run to the semi-finals of the FA Cup still to come.

The hectic playing schedule from day one meant he was unable to properly meet the fans and vice versa. But Rosler is keen to put that right ahead of the new season, where fans will be given an insight into his vision of getting Latics back into the Premier League.

Supporters will be invited to get involved and put their own questions to the gaffer and chief executive Jonathan Jackson.

There will also be a raffle, an auction and a quiz to find the ultimate Latics superfan.

It follows similar successful evenings with ex-bosses Roberto Martinez and Owen Coyle, with proceeds from the night again going to the Joseph’s Goal charity.

Previous forums have sold out well in advance, and fans are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Tickets for the event, which is sponsored by Garricks Solicitors, go on sale from Monday at the DW ticket office priced just £6, including a pie-and-peas supper.

Rosler will be joined by chief executive Jonathan Jackson who said: “Every football club needs a good relationship with its supporters and from what I have seen so far in my time here in Wigan, there is a very strong bond at our club. I am looking forward to the evening.

“This club has always prided itself on being as open and transparent as we can and these events are a really good way for the supporters to get some insight into life behind the scenes at the club.”
