We must do better on road, says Jordi

JORDI Gomez says Latics need to raise their game on the road if they are to stay on the promotion trail.

Latics have lost their last two away matches in the Championship, at Leicester and Bournemouth, and face a daunting trip to Watford tomorrow.

The Hornets came within 90 minutes of the Premier League last season, only to lose 1-0 to Crystal Palace in the play-off final.

And Gomez acknowledges the size of the task in front of Latics this weekend.

“We’ll be going all-out to get the win,” Gomez told the Evening Post.

“Our priority this season is the league, and to try to get back into the Premier League.

“Watford had a very good season last year, and this time they’ve also started well.

“We know it will be difficult but we will be doing our best to get a positive result.

“We have lost our last two away matches, so that is obviously something to improve on and we’ll be trying to do that.

“We have a lot of games at the moment, but that’s good because as a player you want to play games.”
