EMMERSON Boyce popped up with a last-minute winner as Wigan Athletic picked up three precious points from this Lancashire derby.
Blackburn had got off to the perfect start when left-back Tommy Spurr drilled home from close range after eight minutes.
But their hopes of holding on took a massive hit when Grant Hanley was rightly sent off on the half-hour mark for catching Nick Powell with a flailing arm.
After that it was a question of whether Latics could make their one-man advantage count.
And - in the nick of time - they managed to do that.
Substitute Grant Holt scored the equaliser midway through the second half on his return from a knee injury.
And in the first of five added minutes, Boyce got his head to Ben Watson’s free-kick to send the DW into raptures.
