Latics’ final bit of business over the last 24 hours saw the departure of Max Power, who ended his three-year stay at Wigan Athletic to join Sunderland on a loan to guaranteed buy deal.

Whilst fans acknowledged it is a tough pill to swallow to see favourites Burn and Power both depart, the Latics faithful have been impressed at the new blood that has been brought in by boss Paul Cook and his recruitment team on deadline day.

Reflecting on the transfer window (so far), Latics fans are happy with the club’s summer recruitment and are very hopeful for the season ahead.

‏@AS_caspey: “Feel good about what's happened in this transfer window. Think good business with Burn plus get to keep him until Jan. Made some quality additions, some of who already know the club and Cook. Plus kept hold of the likes of Powell. Got a good feeling!”
