Let's enjoy this - Wigan Athletic boss

'Carry on enjoying!'

That’s the message from Wigan Athletic boss Paul Cook ahead of this weekend’s tough trip to Norwich City.

Latics make the long trek to Norfolk looking to consolidate their fifth place in the Championship table, with the campaign already at the one-fifth mark.

And after shocking more than a few teams on their return to the second tier, Cook wants Latics to continue to express themselves – rather than start to worry about losing the good position they’ve got themselves into.

“Look, we’re enjoying being in this division, and we’re going to do our best to deflect as much pressure as we can,” said Cook.

“Our fans will have travelled home from Brentford really disappointed, but you then go back Rangers in pre-season, and QPR the other week, which was the same.

“But then you flip that and look at how we all felt coming back from Stoke, and the home games with Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest.

“That’s the journey of a player, a supporter, a manager, and this division has its downs as well as its ups.”
