Latics dominated for the majority of the 90 minutes without ever looking like they were clinical enough to take the bull by the horns.

Left-back Tom Pearce fired wide of the far post in the early stages, before Fleetwood briefly threatened with a couple of Paddy Madden efforts.

Fortunately for Latics, the striker headed the first one over from close range, and then fired straight at Jamie Jones.

Chris Merrie then failed to play in Zach Clough, who would have had a one-on-one on his debut. from a good position

Dan Gardner fired inches wide from a good position, before Clough dragged a shot horribly wide from bang in front.

Callum Lang forced decent saves out of Fleetwood goalie Alex Cairns either side of the interval.

But despite looking relatively solid at the back, Latics were unable to find that moment of quality to nick all three points - which would have lifted them out of the relegation zone.
