While Seba spent only one year with Latics, Diaz and Martinez were part of the side that won the old Division Three title in thrilling fashion in 1996-97.

Graeme Jones, who plundered 31 league goals that season – still a record – is also confirmed to play for Latics, who will be skippered once again by FA Cup-winning captain Emmerson Boyce.

Also confirmed to don the blue and white of Latics again are Emile Heskey, Stuart Barlow, Nicky Eaden, Jason Jarrett and Kevin Sharp – with many more names to be announced over the next few days.

De Zeeuw’s Dutch side have also been active in the transfer market, securing the services of former Ajax star Angelos Charisteas – who scored the winning goal for Greece against Portugal in the final of Euro 204 – as a ‘ringer’.

Tickets for the big game are on sale through Wigan Athletic’s official website – www.wiganlatics.co.uk/tickets – by calling 0871 66 33 552, or from the DW Stadium.

The game kicks-off at 7.30pm.
