Sisters' big day as they lead out Latics' aces

Lexi-Mae Brown, who has Edward’s Syndrome, was carried onto the pitch by Max Power, while her sister, four-year-old Maisie, walked out with captain Craig Morgan.

Mum Lyndsey said: “We are so proud Max wanted to carry Lexi-Mae out as she is only 18 months old and you have to be five to be a mascot.

“Lexi-Mae was really good and enjoyed the day. She is usually quiet and I didn’t think she would do it, but she managed it.

“It was amazing and such an emotional day.

“It was also a momentous occasion as Latics lifted the trophy. We could not be prouder.

“We also want to congratulate Max as he was awarded community player of the year for his work with Lexi-Mae.”
