Wigan Athletic defender sidelined for 'some weeks'

The 20-year-old from the Isle of Man had to be helped from the field at Spotland after colliding with part of the goal frame while trying to prevent the hosts' second goal.

And after being scanned and assessed, the prognosis is not good.

"No, again it's more disappointment with Adam still struggling," confirmed acting manager Leam Richardson.

"I think he'll be out for some weeks, which is obviously disappointing for the kid.

"He's come into the side and he's done okay, and we are weak in that area.

"But it's just another bump in the road that we have to deal with, and we'll try and get on with it."
