Wigan Athletic given the green light by the EFL to start season
Co-administrator Gerald Krasner has confirmed the EFL have given their permission for Wigan Athletic to kick-off the new campaign this weekend despite still being in administration.
A brief statement on the club's official website, attributed to Krasner, read simply: "In a conversation with the EFL on Thursday night I have been verbally informed that we have permission to start the season under the administration."
