The striker joined the club earlier this month, and scored his first goal for Leam Richardson’s side against Birmingham.

Beattie states Broadhead has lots of exciting qualities.

He said: “I enjoy working with all the players. Obviously my previous career lends to forward playing and attackers, but we work with everyone.

“Nathan (Broadhead) has come in and settled really well, getting on with his business nice and quietly.

“He’s already shown us things in training and on Saturday. He knows where the net is, and is quick and intelligent.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with him.”

Beattie says while deadline day is approaching, coaches can’t take their attention from their other duties.

“You have to address the job at hand which is looking after the team and making sure they’re prepared for the games,” he added.

“Of course (the transfer window) is going on in the background.

“If someone does come on the radar to look at then we have to do that. The hours as a coach or a manager is a lot longer than a player, it’s basically 24/7.”
