The club's proposed new owners - a Spanish consortium fronted by Jose Miguel Garrido Cristo - yesterday met with the EFL, along with the administrators and the Supporters Club.

It's thought a final decision will not be known for at least a week, as the EFL go through the business plan with a fine tooth comb - determined to avoid a repeat of the IEC/NLF shambles that saw the club being placed into administration on July 1.

In the meantime, the squad and management have to go about their business - 'with two arms behind our back, in the words of No.2 Leam Richardson last week.

And James says that is all they can focus on.

When asked whether the takeover was the talk of the dressing room, James replied: "No, definitely not.

"We have to stay separate from that, because it's not something any of us players can affect.

"We just need to concentrate on what we do on the training and during the games.

"We'll let all the people upstairs concentrate on the takeover stuff, and we'll concentrate on the football."
