Wigan Athletic Supporters Club call for 'no exclusivity' from now
The EFL had been mulling over the proposed takeover for more than three months before the latest, final twist on Tuesday morning, which saw the Spanish drop out after apparently trying to renegotiate the agreed price.
Due to an exclusivity clause agreed with the administrators, all rival bidders were prevented from putting forward any alternatives - which led to a lengthy impasse.

"This morning we were made aware that discussions with the Spanish bidders regarding their proposed takeover of the club have failed," a statement read.
"We share the fans’ anger and frustration at this news, and the timing of the decision.
"The Supporters Club have already made contact with the administrators and the EFL.

"We have also strongly requested the administrators refuse any requests for exclusivity from future bidders, in order to allow for multiple bids to be proposed to the EFL.
"We have been assured by the EFL that this is possible, and we will continue to discuss this with the administrators.
"We understand and share the concerns of all Latics supporters.
"But we will continue to work with all parties on a daily basis to secure the future of Wigan Athletic, and we will provide further updates regarding next steps as soon as possible."
