Caldwell up for manager award

LATICS boss Gary Caldwell has been shortlisted for October’s League One Manager of the Month award.

The Scot has seen his side go unbeaten during that time, winning three and drawing three. Nestled in there was also the JPT victory over Crewe.

As a result, Wigan have been propelled up the table into fifth spot.

According the football league: “Caldwell has taken to football management with apparent ease. He has recruited wisely and blended old and new faces into a winning side which collected 12 points from six unbeaten games, including an emphatic 5-0 win over Colchester United.

Caldwell is up against Phil Parkinson (Bradford), Mark Robins (Scunthorpe) and Dean Saunders (Chesterfield).
