ANDY Delort has finally been put out of his Wigan Athletic misery after completing a move to Caen on a four-year deal.
The French striker failed to make any sort of positive impression after arriving at the DW Stadium last summer from Tours FC for £3million.
Having failed to score a single goal during the first half of last season, he was loaned back to the French club in January.
And he has secured a permanent return to his homeland with Caen for a knockdown fee.
Delort was back at Christopher Park on Wednesday, but it was to discuss a parting of the ways rather than a return to pre-season training.
Despite making a huge loss on the deal, Latics will at least save on his wages for the rest of his contract.
Boss Gary Caldwell is close to signing Tranmere midfielder Max Power and Bolton forward Sanmi Odelusi.
He also wants Dundee United striker Nafti Ciftci for £1million, but face competition from Celtic.
