Wigan Athletic have been charged by the Football Association after failing to prevent spectators encroaching on to the pitch in the aftermath of their FA Cup fifth-round victory over Manchester City last month.
Hundreds of fans poured onto the playing surface after the Latics shocked the footballing world by defeating the Premier League champions-elect.
Will Grigg scored the only goal to send Paul Cook’s men into the quarter-finals, only to be beaten by Southampton a fortnight ago.
"Wigan Athletic have been charged for failing to ensure that no spectators or unauthorised persons encroached onto the pitch at the Emirates FA Cup match against Manchester City on Monday, February 19," an FA statement read.
"The club has until 6pm on Monday, April 9 to respond to the charge.”
Earlier in the month, City were charged £50,000 by the FA after admitting they had failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.
