LATICS have announced a three-year partnership with leading European sportswear brand Kappa.

The club have signed a three-year agreement with the brand, delivering a significant investment into the football club.

The new partnership will see every Wigan Athletic team’s playing strips, from the First Team to the Academy, along with all training equipment and leisurewear, manufactured by Kappa for the next three seasons, replacing DW Sports brand MiFit.

Latics will therefore be joining the likes of Serie A teams Torino, Napoli and Sampdoria, Bundesliga sides Borussia Monchengladbach and Wolfsburg, and Ligue 1 teams Bastia, Troyes, Toulouse, along with newly promoted twin town of Wigan, Angers; alongside many other teams from all over Europe, South America, Africa and Asia.

Wigan Athletic Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: “This is a really exciting development for the club and we have worked hard to secure this deal with such a prestigious brand.

“Kappa are looking to continue to work within the UK football market and we are delighted to be able to become part of their roster of teams.”

Mark Ward, Managing Director of Kappa UK & Ireland, said: “Kappa is actively extending its International portfolio of clubs and Wigan Athletic is a fantastic asset to us. We are extremely proud to be associated with the club and their fans and are excited to see the new kit on the pitch next season.

“The Wigan Athletic story has been followed all across the world of football over the last ten years and we are happy to now be working with them as the club looks to regain its Championship status.”

An exclusive launch event will take place at the DW Stadium on Friday 26 June, with all three kits – home, away and 3rd kit – revealed for the first time.

Supporters will be able to pre-order from this date, with an on-sale date to be confirmed.
