THE two teams without a point in Autus Web Design Division Three – Sporting Leigh and Black Bull – clashed at Lawson Avenue and in a thrilling contest honours were even at 2-2.

Leaders Foundry Reserves clinched another win as they defeated Atherton George 3-1 with goals from Paul Burke [2] and Keiron Saunders.

AH Leisure won 2-0 at Lowton Rams thanks to goals from Phil Butler and Tom Faulkner.

Wigan Celtic kept up their good run with a 4-2 victory at Billinge Community with Paul Armstrong claiming a superb hat-trick, while two goal Dwayne Kinloch led the way as Cart and Horse beat Ince Central Reserves 4-0.

Ashton Villa remain on a high as they defeated Gidlow Reserves 3-1 with Alex Rigby getting a couple.

The Garswood Trophies Premier Division champions had their second setback of the season, crashing 3-2 at Ince Central, as Ian Gaskell, Mark Highton and Jamie Bennett all netted for Central.

Digmoor edged out Ince 2-1, while Gidlow Athletic slammed Hindley Town 6-2 with David Eyre hitting four. Standish St Wilf’s, with two Kevin Wilson goals, beat Downall Green United 4-3.

Newburgh Harrock United edged out Pemberton 2-1 as Rob Ditchfield and Ray Turner scored.

Leaders now are Leigh Rangers following their impressive 5-1 win at Shevington with Steve Marsh and Nick Pilling scoring twice each.

Division One leaders Orrell march on after beating Winstanley Reserves 4-1, while Goose Green United edged out Shevington Reserves by the odd goal in seven .

Wigan Rovers and AFC Tyldesley shared the spoils 2-2 and St Jude’s picked up a useful 4-2 win over Atherton Town as Shaun Shepherd got two. Lee Harman fired in as superb 30-yard free kick.

In Division Two both top dogs were beaten as Leigh Legion were blitzed 5-1 by Aspull with Anthony Rudd claiming a hat-trick, and Belair lost 4-0 at bottom side Up Holland whose scorers were Ben Bradfield and Lee Barnes.

Cherry Brook made ground on the leaders with a 3-0 home win over Boars Head, while Atherton Hag Fold – with goals from Paul Stead and Stuart McPike – won 2-1 at Hindley Town Reserves.

Leigh Rangers Reserves thrashed Wigan Rovers Reserves 5-1 with Adam Pitchford bagging four, while Orrell Reserves pulled off a 3-0 win at Farnworth Reserves.

Bickerstaffe Res and Springfield shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

AFC Scholes set up a home clash with Enfield by beating Winstanley Warriors 5-1 in the first round of the Lancashire Amateur Cup.
