JENNY Meadows is ready to tackle the best of British after a scorching start to the new season.
The 33-year-old has accepted an invitation to compete in the 800m at the British Indoor Championships this month.
The 2010 World Indoor medalist produced two sub-two minute races in the space of a week to mark a dream start to the season.
Having completed a month training programme in South Africa, Meadows returned to full fitness with a time of 1.59.21 – the fastest indoor time for three years – in Austria.
And she backed that up with another win at the Copernicus Cup indoor meeting in Poland on Tuesday, racing 1:59.85.
Meadows posted on social media: “Another win in Poland this evening. 1.59.85 so (I have) the two fastest times in the world so far this year.”
Now she will test herself at Sainsbury’s Indoor British Championships, which takes place on February 14-15.
