TWO amateurs from Up Holland’s Beacon Park Gold club are heading to Dubai after progressing to the final of the Golf Care Matchplay Championship.
Scott Rigby and Danny Collins qualified at the Regional Finals played at the Forest of Arden Golf Club, and now will represent the region in the main final in a fortnight’s time.
The pair will play in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The Golf Care Matchplay Championships is one of Europe’s largest amateur tournaments, with 40 golfers competing in the main final.
The finalists will experience a week’s hospitality at the new five-star JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel, the tallest dedicated hotel in world.
The competition will begin played down the fairways of the world famous ‘Els Club’, which was opened in 2008 as part of Dubai’s Sport City.
Entry to the competition is open to anyone over the age of 16 but men must have a maximum handicap of 28,
while for women their handicap must not be above 36.
