WIGAN St Cuthbert’s handed Dalton an 18-0 walkover win in the final round of the North West Counties season.
The sides are due to take part in the play-offs next week and with the two teams’ places secured for the play-offs, St Cuthebert’s failed to raise a team to see out their final league game.
The result puts St Cuthbert’s in fourth place to end the season, with Dalton taking top spot, which they had already secured over second-placed Golborne Parkside.
The semi-finals of the play-off sees St Cuthbert’s take on Hindley, who won the Lower Division by a single point over Oldham St Anne’s, and Golborne Parkside face Dalton.
Third-placed Irlam will not take part in the play-offs sue to having withdrawn from the competition.
ST PAT’S were drawn away at Rochdale Mayfield in the second round of the Challenge Cup.
The winner could face professional opposition in round three as the Kingstone Press Championships clubs enter the fray.
The second round ties take place on the weekend of February 22 and 23.
