The Warriors bounced back from a loss at Hull KR in their last outing to produce a dominant display, in which they led 18-0 at half-time.

Joe Burgess, recalled to the side, scored two of their five tries as the Warriors stepped up to third in the table, and level on win percentage with the two sides above them.

And Lam said: "I'm really pleased, after last week we were honest with each other.

"I just asked them to be the players they are, their names are across the back of those shirts and they represent their families every time they take to the field.

"I was really pleased with their efforts.

"I thought we were outstanding defensively. We knew we had a tough week but we were physical, our attitude was great.

"It's a tough trip this one for anyone who makes it, it was a 4.45am wake-up for everyone."

Lam, who praised the "outstanding" contribution of halfback Jackson Hastings, says the defensive grit in the first-half - when they repelled successive repeat sets on their line - typified their attitude.

"I like that, even though it's not nice to see it unfold, it actually steels you and you can't train that," he said.

The win came at a cost, with prop Joe Bullock suffering a suspected broken hand. He will travel back with the squad today and have the injury assessed tomorrow.
